1.Remote sensing data policy:
i)New policy allows all data of resolution up to 1 meter to be distributed on a non-discriminatory basis.
ii)No bar on publishing the high resolution data of remote sensing.
iii)All data better than the 1 meter resolution shall be screened and cleared by appropriate agency.
iv)The National Remote sensing will be vested with the authority to acquire & disseminate all remote sensing data in India both from Indian and foreign satellite for the purpose of development activities.
2.National Mission for Justice delivery &legal reforms
i) National Mission for Justice delivery &legal reforms :providing fast track courts to clear backlog in the judicial system.
ii)Objective of mission to increase access to justice by reducing delays and arrears in the system.
iii)to enhance accountability through structural changes and by setting performance standards.
iv)Objectives are to be achieved through mission mode approach in a time bound manner by 2015-16.
v)The mission is planned to have a mission directorate ,an advisory council &governing council for overseeing the implementation of the mission.
3.India Institute for democracy and election management
i)IIDEM is an advance resource centre of learning ,research ,training and extension for participatory democracy & election management.
ii)IIDEM is national and international hub for exchange of good practices in election management.
iii)IIDEM is to work for enhancing voter education and developing human resource for efficient conduct of free and fair election in India.
iv)The institute has four components-1)Training and capacity development2)Voter education and civic participation 3)Research innovation and documentation 4)International projects and technical collaboration
4.Janani Shishu Suraksha Program
i)[Program sponsored by Ministry of health and family welfare
ii)Program was launched for pregnant women with the objective to effectively address the problems of maternal and child mortality.
iii)Under the program pregnant mothers can avail government health institution for free deliveries.
iv)Both mother and child will get free treatment ,free drugs and consumables,diagnostics,user charges besides free provision of blood and transportation.
v)Free facility will comprise delivery including C-section ,special diet and diagnostic.
5.10th SCO Summit
i)10th six nation Shanghai cooperation organization( SCO) summit was held in Astana the capital city of Kazakistan on 15th june 2011.
ii)The six nation SCO member states are China Russia,kazakhstan,Kyrgyzstan,Ujbekistan
iii) The joint declaration of summit included -1)Establishing the inseparable international security community to guard information security ,2)Fighting the three evil forces of terrorism, separatism and extremism and 3)combating drug trafficking.
6. Golden Peacock Environment Management Award
Golden Peacock Environment Management Award instituted by the institutes of directors New Delhi are presented in various categories.
Maharatna Steel authority of India SAIL received the Golden Peacock Environment Management Award for the year 2011.The award was presented to SAIL for its initiative in the field of environment management. In the last four years company succeeded in reducing particulate emission by 52%,specific water consumption by 11%,specific energy consumption by 5%, increased solid waste utilization by 18%.SAIL in accordance with the National Environment policy developed an management system at its different plants and units.
7. Machendranathan committee
i)A steel ministry expert panel on ore pricing headed by additional secretary S Machendranathan.
ii)Panel suggested that NMDC should fix its ore prices on quarterly basis for its domestic buyers.
iii)NMDC should benchmark the price at which it exports to japan and south Korea.
iv)The panel has rightly rejected the cost-plus route to fixing ore prices for the internal market
v)The committee found no merit in ore prices being determined by the forces of supply and demand.
vi)It also suggested that NMDC should negotiate its quarterly prices with its domestic customers as it does with its overseas customers.
9. National Register & National transport portal
National Register & National transport portal have been launched to detect fake driving licenses and track stolen vehicle easiely.It will provide information to transport department ,police department and automobile dealers. National register is a central pool of driving licenses and vehicles registered in India. It could be accessed for a quick verification by all states and road transport offices.
10.Biotechnology Regulatory Authority of India (BRAI) Bill, 2011
The BRAI Bill proposes to create a new regulatory body which its opponents claim would be a single window clearance system for genetically modified crops. The bill proposes to set up a five member Biotechnology Regulatory Authority of India, of which two are part-time members, under the Ministry of Science and Technology which will take all decisions on the research, transport, import, manufacture and use of organisms and products created through modern biotechnology. All the other institutions proposed as part of the regulatory system like the Inter Ministerial Governing Board and the Biotechnology Advisory Council are all advisory or supportive in nature.
11. National Land Acquisition &Rehabilitation &resettlement Bill 2011
I)The Bill rules out the acquisition, not of all irrigated agricultural land, but of multi-cropped irrigated agricultural land.
II)The present Bill increases the compensation amount significantly.
III)Consent of 80 per cent of people will be made mandatory except where land is acquired for public purpose. Public purpose is defined as land use for strategic purposes, infrastructure and industry.
IV) There will be different land acquisition norms for rural and urban areas.
V)The bill proposals include a subsistence allowance of 3,000 per family per month for a year and an annuity of 2,000 per family per month for 20 years.
VI)The bill also includes employment provisions.
VII)states are free to have their own land acquisition laws.
1.NSSF:National Social Security Fund. National level security fund for unorganized sector. Fund is likely to benefit 43.3 crores workers in unorganized sector. Fund will be administered by NATIONAL SOCIAL SECUTRITY BOARD.

'UNNATI': Coca-Cola India and Jain Irrigation launched a Project ‘Unnati', a unique partnership with farmers to demonstrate and enable adoption of ultra-high density plantation (UHDP) practice for mango cultivation. The project will encourage sustainable, modern agricultural practices and help double mango yields. UHDP is a farming practice that leads to mango orchards attaining their full potential in 3-4 years and allows nearly 600 trees to be planted per acre instead of the conventional 40 trees.

5. NOFN Project :National Optical fiber network.Rs 3000 crores NOFN project is for broadband connectivity to 2500 panchayats across the country. The project will be completed by 2014-15 through a special purpose vehicle .NOFN is expected to help the government implement its various e-governance initiative such as e-health-banking ,e-education facilitating inclusive growth.
6.Prahar:Short range missile The 150 km range 'Prahar' is a single stage missile and is fuelled by solid propellants.The uniqueness of the missile system is that "in one salvo, six missiles can be fired with multiple targets,"This short range missile is an 'excellent weapon' which would fill the gap between unguided multi-barrel rocket system 'Pinaka' with 40 km range and guided missiles like 'Prithvi' , which can strike at 250 km to 350 km range.
7. 'K': Most powerful supercomputer. A Japanese supercomputer capable of making 8.2 quadrillion calculations per second or equivalent to a million laptops working in tandem .The computer is three times faster than its Chinese rival(Tianhe-1A) that previously held the top position. K, built by Fujitsu and located at the Riken Advanced Institute for Computational Science in Kobe, Japan, represents a giant leap forward in computing speed.
8. e-sunshine: China's online electronic bidding system, ‘e-sunshine', to prevent collusive tendering, exclusion of genuine bidders, and unfair evaluation of bids.
9. Electronic performance assessment system :China's electronic performance assessment system to improve governance through a performance index, real-time assessment and misconduct rectification. Under the misconduct rectification system, warnings and alarms are sounded when a department is behind schedule.
